The children had a wonderful time exploring art in their environment as part of a fun and engaging outdoor learning experience. We began with a presentation featuring a selection of famous paintings from the National Gallery. The children carefully observed each artwork and discussed what they could see, hear, smell, taste, and feel within the scenes. This sensory approach encouraged them to think deeply about the artists' work and to use their imagination to bring the paintings to life. Following this, we headed outdoors for a creative art lesson. Using the natural materials and surroundings around them, the children explored different textures, colours, and shapes to create their own unique pieces of art.
