Our pupils has been exploring the fascinating world of the Normans and their journey to Ireland. Through engaging lessons and lively discussions, they learned how the Normans arrived, why they came, and the impact they had on Irish history.
To truly bring their learning to life, the children worked together to design and construct their very own moat and bailey, along with an impressive Norman castle. Using a variety of materials and plenty of imagination, they carefully recreated the key features of these historic structures, gaining a deeper understanding of how they were built and used for defence.
The highlight of the project was when the class invited the junior room to visit their exhibition. Acting as expert guides, the children confidently explained the different parts of their constructions and shared their knowledge of Norman life.
