Local History!!
The children had great fun working together on an exciting project all about the history of our local area, Emper. They explored a variety of fascinating topics, including the formation of our school, the impact of the famine on the local population, and the stories behind some of the area’s most famous landmarks.
The project gave the children the opportunity to use lots of active learning skills as they worked collaboratively to gather and share information. Using our school Chromebooks, they typed up their researched findings and presented them in their own words. To finish off the project, the children proudly presented their work to the Junior Room. Each pupil recited their own part, carefully organising themselves and making use of their public speaking skills.
This learning experience not only deepened their knowledge of Emper’s rich past but also allowed them to develop teamwork, research, and digital skills. Most of all, they thoroughly enjoyed discovering more about the place where they live and go to school.
