Outdoor Maths!

28th Apr 2026

With the recent spell of beautiful sunny weather, our classroom moved outdoors. The children are currently exploring the topic of 'The Circle' and what better way to bring this to life than with chalk and fresh air!

Using the yard as their canvas, the children drew large circles and carefully labelled key parts such as the centre, radius, and diameter. This hands-on approach helped deepen their understanding.

To make the most of our outdoor learning, we also linked our maths lesson with our History topic of the week, 'Games in the Past'. The children had great fun designing and playing their own versions of hopscotch, adding unique twists and creative rules along the way.
