School Vegetable Garden!
This week, our students have been hard at work in the school vegetable garden, putting their growing skills into action. The children were excited to outplant their crops and see them take root in the garden beds.
A wonderful variety of produce has been planted, including peas, lettuce, carrots, onions, shallots, potatoes and rhubarb. The students have shown great care and enthusiasm throughout the process, learning about planting, spacing, and the importance of looking after their crops as they grow.
Over the coming weeks, the children will continue to monitor and care for their vegetables, watching closely as their hard work begins to flourish. There is a real sense of anticipation as they look ahead to June, when they hope to harvest their produce and sell it at a local farmers’ market.
This project has been a fantastic opportunity for hands-on learning, teamwork, and developing an appreciation for where our food comes from.
