Science Experiments!

6th Sep 2025

Our recent science experiment focused on exploring the differences between solids, liquids, and gases. To make the concept come to life, the children used balloons as a fun and practical way of investigating the three states of matter. One balloon was filled with air, another with water, and a third was placed in the freezer to form ice. This gave the children the chance to clearly see and feel the differences between the three states.

The class then compared the weight of each balloon and discussed what this showed about how particles behave in solids, liquids, and gases. They were fascinated to learn how closely packed particles are in a solid, how they can move around more freely in a liquid, and how they spread out to fill a space in a gas.
