World Book Day!

6th Mar 2026

This week, we proudly celebrated World Book Day with a creative and joyful storytelling project. Each child designed and made their own miniature storybook from start to finish.

The children began by developing their story ideas on paper, which they then scrunched into “snowballs.” Sitting together in a circle, they took turns picking up someone else’s snowball, using the idea inside to help inspire and shape their own plot. This fun activity encouraged collaboration, imagination, and lots of laughter.

Once their ideas were formed, the children structured their stories into three clear parts: a beginning, middle and end. They then created their miniature books, carefully writing their stories and illustrating every page themselves.

To finish, the children used a marbling ink technique to produce wonderfully colourful and unique book covers. The final results were fantastic and each child read their story aloud to the class!
